20-something Max was looking for cheap rent. Instead, he found 76-year-old Laurie...
Presented by Good Flock, this uplifting evening begins with Max Flett performing his acclaimed comedy show Laurie, followed by a live conversation with Laurie and Max about friendship, ageing, and a life shared across generations.
“Last year, I moved into a 76-year-old lady’s house for cheap rent and ended up making a best friend.
Laurie is a stand-up comedy show about the year I spent living with a 76-year-old lady. We met while I was doing her gardening (lol), and I moved into her house because I thought living at my parents’ would make it hard for me to bring dates back home (lol).
This year ended up changing my life. Laurie has shaped the way I think about life, love and Deal or No Deal. I worry the way I’m writing this makes it sound like she’s dead. She’s not. I’m just dedicating this show to her because she’s awesome.
Cheers,
Max”
Good Flock (www.goodflock.org) is a not-for-profit organisation shaping a better future of ageing in Australia, where all life stages are valued, generations are connected, and care is shared within communities - all themes at the heart of Laurie.
