Things people ask

How much is a work Christmas party at Trainscendence?
There's no hire fee. Each space has a minimum spend, and that minimum becomes your bar tab: your team orders what they like from the bar and everything poured comes off the tab. The minimum for each space is shown above and varies by space and night (Thursdays and Sundays in Nov and Dec run on weekday minimums). If the night comes in under the minimum, the difference is invoiced after. If you go over, top the tab up or switch to guests buying their own.
What can we drink on the bar tab?
Anything from the bar: tap beer, wine, cider, mixed drinks, cocktails and soft drinks. Everything poured comes off the tab, and only drinks count toward the minimum.
How many people can come?
A single train carriage and its patio fits up to 70 standing. Take both carriages — the whole rooftop — for up to 130. For bigger end-of-year events, a full-venue takeover across all seven themed rooms holds up to 350. Tell us your headcount in the enquiry and we will recommend the right fit.
What's included?
Exclusive use of your space, our bar and bar staff, and an event host who runs the night so you can stay a guest. Your minimum spend goes on drinks for your team as a bar tab. Entertainment like DJs and performers can be added on.
Can you organise entertainment — DJs, performers, dancers?
Yes, and it's easy. We work with a network of DJs, live musicians, dancers, drag and cabaret performers, roving acts and photo-booth operators, and can arrange whatever suits your team's vibe as a simple add-on to your booking. Prefer to bring your own DJ or act? They're welcome too — each space has its own sound system. Just tell us what you're after in your enquiry and we'll handle the bookings.
When should we book for November or December?
As early as you can. Corporate Christmas-party season peaks in Nov–Dec and the best weeknights book out by September–October. Even a rough date and headcount lets us hold a night for you while you confirm the details.

What happens if it rains — is the rooftop covered?
The train carriages are enclosed and comfortable in any weather; the patios around them are open-air. If the weather turns, the party simply moves inside the carriages — your event runs rain or shine.
What if the party runs long — can we extend on the night?
Usually, yes, subject to availability and bar staff on the night. Flag it early with your event host. Drinks keep coming off your tab, or you can top it up.
Where are you, and how does the team get there?
We're at Rolling Stock Lane, Collingwood — the laneway off Budd Street — about a 10–15 minute Uber from the Melbourne CBD, a short walk from Collingwood station, and an easy hop from the Cremorne and Richmond tech offices. There's street parking around Easey and Budd Streets. Look up for the two trains on the roof — that's us.
Is the venue accessible? Can we take a virtual tour?
