2-day music and arts festival; a journey amidst the dead of winter.
Keep your eyes peeled.... after decades of secrecy, the mysterious Spectacle Society are inviting people in to their magic-making. Collect a pair of cardboard 3D glasses and begin to see things differently...
Loco Motion is a 2-day music, arts and quests fest at Collingwood’s creative wonderland, Trainscendence. A warm journey amidst the dead of winter.
Come to discover local bands, DJs, visual artists, performers and craftspeople. Those who look deeper will find secret art hidden amongst this unique ten-room venue. The curious may even find themselves joining the Spectacle Society itself!
Saturday evening is a kaleidoscope of tech. Innovative bands, digital music-mixers, alluring lights, projection art and a silent disco tour of the wild venue Trainscendence. A mysterious midnight ritual shall bathe the venue in a moment of pause, the society casting a collective spell. Finally.. a 12.20am surprise!
The Sunday, then, turns its hands towards handicrafts. A day full of market stalls, nature-based workshops and acoustic acts. On Sunday night, a final word from the Spectacle Society, whose member base may well have grown in number by this point.
A delightful, festival of creativity, with a contemplation of tech-human relations bubbling beneath its train station of celebration.

💖💖💖 Trainscendence is accessed via an alley with uneven cobblestones, but has a lift which goes to every floor except the rooftop terrace and two large accessibility bathrooms. Thus, if folks who use a wheelchair navigate the laneway, the venue itself should be mostly accessible. Trainscendence feel it should go without saying that we do not tolerate bullying, racism, sexism, ableism or gender or sexuality-based harassment.
🖤💛❤️ The place we now call 'Collingwood' is said to have been once known as Yálla-birr-ang by Wurundjeri. We pay respects to first nations. It is an honour and privilege to live and create on this unceded Aboriginal land, which knows tens of thousands of years of culture, storytelling and gatherings. As a nation, may we confront the full reality of our history as a part of moving forwards harmoniously.

It’s a pleasure to host you at Trainscendence. To ensure everyone’s experience with us is memorable for the right reasons:
ID AND BAG CHECKING
For licensed events, we may ask you to produce ID if you look under 25. Please take it as a compliment!
Our security personnel are empowered to exercise discretion in denying entry to any individuals deemed unsuitable for access. Entry will be refused to individuals exhibiting signs of intoxication, carrying hazardous or prohibited items, or engaging in disruptive or antisocial behaviour.
RESPONSIBLE SERVICE
We are committed to the responsible service of alcohol. If you appear intoxicated, or under the age of 18, we will refuse to serve you. This is the law and we have to follow it.
How to get here
You're closer than your map thinks.
Trainscendence sits in a secret laneway behind 6/48 Easey Street, Collingwood. Maps will drop you on Easey Street outside Easey Burger restaurant — that’s almost right. Walk one street east to Budd Street, turn left and look for the laneway “Rolling Stock Laneway”, and follow it in. Enter through the Trainscendence archway on the left.
