A bucks night, but a good one

The bucks party venue Melbourne groomsmen actually plan ahead for

Two vintage train carriages on a Collingwood rooftop, six bars, seven themed rooms. A bucks night with personality, not a strip club with a corkage fee. Plan it once and you're a legend in the group chat for the rest of the year.

Bar minimums from $1,000 · weeknight · capacity 30-200
Bucks nights have a reputation problem and most venues don't help. Trainscendence does — because the venue itself is the entertainment, you don't need to manufacture chaos to make the night memorable. Pick a themed room, take it over for the night, run whatever activities you want (or none), and end on the rooftop in a train carriage. Six bars means short lines. Sound-isolated rooms means you can be loud without anyone calling security.
  • Tight 20-50 group fits one themed room — feels exclusive without being cramped
  • Two trains on a rooftop — the kind of backdrop the wedding photographer will ask about later
  • Six bars — no waiting, no card-decline drama on a $400 round
  • Late-night licence — the rooftop kicks on past midnight
  • BYO music, BYO theme, BYO surprise guest appearances
  • Weeknight bar minimums from $1,000 — workable on a "we split it equally" group budget
Common questions

Things people ask

How much does a bucks party at Trainscendence cost?
There's no flat venue-hire fee — instead we use a bar minimum spend that varies by room and night. Weeknights start at $1,000 (small themed rooms) and scale up to $5,000+ for the whole rooftop on a Saturday. Whatever your guests drink at the bar counts toward that minimum, so for most bucks partys of 50+ people, the minimum is hit naturally and there's effectively no venue cost on top.
Can we organise a poker night, whisky tasting, or other activity?
Yes. We have preferred providers for whisky tastings, beer flights, poker dealers, drag MCs, and a few other surprises. Some rooms are better suited to seated activities than others — tell us the headcount and what you want to run, and we'll suggest the right room.
How many people can come?
Depends on which space. The whole rooftop fits 120 standing. A single themed room fits 60-100. Whole-venue takeovers fit up to 400. Tell us your headcount in the enquiry and we'll suggest the right fit.
Can we have food?
Yes — three options. (1) Our preferred external caterer Fabulous Catering delivers to the venue, invoiced separately. (2) Some rooms allow you to BYO platters or order pizzas in. (3) For larger or curated events, we can arrange custom canapés and drinks packages. We'll talk options based on your event.
Can we decorate the room?
Yes, within reason. No nails in walls or anything that damages the rooms (which all already have a lot of personality). Balloons, flowers, photo backdrops, custom signage — totally fine. Confetti — please ask first because we've had cleanup adventures.
Can we play our own music or DJ?
Absolutely. Each themed room has its own audio setup — connect via Bluetooth, AUX, or bring a DJ. We can also book one of our preferred DJs for you if that's easier. Sound-isolated walls between rooms mean your music won't bleed into someone else's event next door.
How do I get there from the city?
We're on Easey Street in Collingwood, a 15-minute Uber from the CBD or a short walk from Collingwood station (Mernda/Hurstbridge lines). Look up at the back of Easey Street — you'll see two trains on the rooftop. That's us.
