For the team that survived the year

The end of year party Melbourne actually wants to come to

Two vintage train carriages on a Collingwood rooftop. Six bars, seven themed rooms, room for up to 400. We handle the bar, the host, the door — you just send the calendar invite and watch your team show up early for once.

Bar minimums from $1,000 · weeknight · capacity 60-400
Most end of year parties happen in the same boardroom they sat in all year, with the same beige catering and the same person leaving early. Yours doesn't have to. Trainscendence is built for the kind of EOY night that gets brought up at next year's onboarding — without you spending December as a project manager. Pick a room, we sort the bar, and an event host runs the night so you can stop being HR and start being a guest.
  • Standing for up to 400 across the building, or 60-120 in a single themed room — fits any team size
  • Six bars in-house — drinks tabs are simple, no minimum-spend stress for guests
  • Two vintage Hitachi carriages on the rooftop for the kind of team photos that don't look like a LinkedIn carousel
  • In-house event host runs the night — your office manager gets to enjoy themselves for once
  • Weeknight bar minimums from $1,000 (cheaper than most CBD function rooms)
  • Custom canapé and drinks packages available, or BYO catering through our preferred provider
Common questions

Things people ask

How much does a end of year party at Trainscendence cost?
There's no flat venue-hire fee — instead we use a bar minimum spend that varies by room and night. Weeknights start at $1,000 (small themed rooms) and scale up to $5,000+ for the whole rooftop on a Saturday. Whatever your guests drink at the bar counts toward that minimum, so for most end of year partys of 50+ people, the minimum is hit naturally and there's effectively no venue cost on top.
How many people can come?
Depends on which space. The whole rooftop fits 120 standing. A single themed room fits 60-100. Whole-venue takeovers fit up to 400. Tell us your headcount in the enquiry and we'll suggest the right fit.
What dates are still available in November and December?
November fills up first — by August most Friday and Saturday nights are gone. December weeknights and Sunday afternoons stay open longer. Sundays are quietly the smartest pick: better availability, lower bar minimums, and people are already in a celebratory mood by 4pm. Send through your preferred dates and we'll come back same-day.
Can we have food?
Yes — three options. (1) Our preferred external caterer Fabulous Catering delivers to the venue, invoiced separately. (2) Some rooms allow you to BYO platters or order pizzas in. (3) For larger or curated events, we can arrange custom canapés and drinks packages. We'll talk options based on your event.
Can we have a Secret Santa, awards or speeches?
Yes — every room has audio you can plug into. We can supply a roving mic, a podium, a projector for awards slideshows, and our event host can MC the formal bits if you want one less thing to organise. Tell us in the brief what you want to run.
Can we decorate the room?
Yes, within reason. No nails in walls or anything that damages the rooms (which all already have a lot of personality). Balloons, flowers, photo backdrops, custom signage — totally fine. Confetti — please ask first because we've had cleanup adventures.
How do I get there from the city?
We're on Easey Street in Collingwood, a 15-minute Uber from the CBD or a short walk from Collingwood station (Mernda/Hurstbridge lines). Look up at the back of Easey Street — you'll see two trains on the rooftop. That's us.
