No clichés. No dares. Just a great night.
The hens party venue Melbourne actually wants to recommend
Two vintage Hitachi carriages on a rooftop. Six bars, seven themed rooms. A hens night that doesn't need a sash and a tiara to be unforgettable — but you can definitely still bring those if you want.
Bar minimums from $1,000 · weeknight · capacity 30-120
Most hens nights start at someone's house with mimosas, end at a karaoke bar with a stranger's shoe in someone's handbag, and have a hard time in the middle figuring out what to actually do.
Trainscendence solves the middle. Pick a themed room for the dinner-and-cocktails phase, move up to the rooftop train carriages as the night gets going, and keep the whole thing in one building so no one has to argue about Ubers.
- ✓Tight 30-60 friend group fits a single themed room beautifully
- ✓Two trains on a rooftop — the photo wall is the venue itself
- ✓Six bars across the building — no waiting
- ✓Custom cocktail packages available
- ✓BYO playlist, custom signage, photo backdrops — bring whatever, we'll work with it
- ✓Weeknight bar minimums from $1,000 — much cheaper than CBD function rooms

Things people ask
How much does a hens party at Trainscendence cost?
There's no flat venue-hire fee — instead we use a bar minimum spend that varies by room and night. Weeknights start at $1,000 (small themed rooms) and scale up to $5,000+ for the whole rooftop on a Saturday. Whatever your guests drink at the bar counts toward that minimum, so for most hens partys of 50+ people, the minimum is hit naturally and there's effectively no venue cost on top.
How many people does a hens night usually book for?
Most hens groups land between 15 and 40 people, which fits perfectly in a single themed room. We can also handle smaller intimate dinners (12-20) and big "I invited everyone" nights up to 120 on the rooftop.
Can we organise activities — life drawing, cocktail class, that kind of thing?
Yes. We have preferred providers for cocktail classes, life drawing (tasteful, no clichés), tarot readers, drag MCs, and a few other surprises. Tell us the vibe and we'll suggest options.
Can we have food?
Yes — three options. (1) Our preferred external caterer Fabulous Catering delivers to the venue, invoiced separately. (2) Some rooms allow you to BYO platters or order pizzas in. (3) For larger or curated events, we can arrange custom canapés and drinks packages. We'll talk options based on your event.
Can we decorate the room?
Yes, within reason. No nails in walls or anything that damages the rooms (which all already have a lot of personality). Balloons, flowers, photo backdrops, custom signage — totally fine. Confetti — please ask first because we've had cleanup adventures.
Can we play our own music or DJ?
Absolutely. Each themed room has its own audio setup — connect via Bluetooth, AUX, or bring a DJ. We can also book one of our preferred DJs for you if that's easier. Sound-isolated walls between rooms mean your music won't bleed into someone else's event next door.
How do I get there from the city?
We're on Easey Street in Collingwood, a 15-minute Uber from the CBD or a short walk from Collingwood station (Mernda/Hurstbridge lines). Look up at the back of Easey Street — you'll see two trains on the rooftop. That's us.
