A launch venue your launch deserves

The product launch venue Melbourne brands keep coming back to

A launch event lives or dies on the room. Two vintage Hitachi train carriages on a Collingwood rooftop, six bars, seven themed rooms — a venue that gets shared on socials before your press release goes live.

Bar minimums from $1,000 · capacity 60-400 · full AV
Product launches sit at the intersection of marketing event and corporate event — half the work is the message, half is the moment. The right venue makes the moment real. The wrong one drowns it. Trainscendence works for launches because it's a venue people film. Influencers, press, and your own team show up and immediately start posting — which means your launch reach extends past whoever was in the room.
  • Capacity 60 to 400 — intimate press preview through to a 300-person consumer launch
  • A venue that's already a backdrop — every room is photographable, every angle is usable
  • Full AV in every room — keynote presentations, demo stations, brand films
  • Custom branding allowed — projection, vinyl, signage, photo walls (no nails in the actual walls)
  • Sound-isolated rooms means you can run press in one room, talent in another, demo stations in a third
  • Day-to-night flow — daytime preview into evening drinks without a venue change
Common questions

Things people ask

Can we brand the space — projection, vinyl, photo walls?
Yes — within reason. Custom signage, vinyl floor stickers, photo walls, projection mapping, branded cocktails are all fine. The only hard no is anything that damages the building (nails in walls, paint on surfaces). Tell us in the brief and we'll talk through what works.
Can we run press, influencers and consumers as separate experiences?
Yes — sound-isolated rooms mean you can run a press preview in one room, an influencer experience in another, and a consumer floor in a third, all in the same building. We've done this for product launches and brand activations and it works really well.
How many people can come?
Depends on which space. The whole rooftop fits 120 standing. A single themed room fits 60-100. Whole-venue takeovers fit up to 400. Tell us your headcount in the enquiry and we'll suggest the right fit.
How much does a product launch at Trainscendence cost?
There's no flat venue-hire fee — instead we use a bar minimum spend that varies by room and night. Weeknights start at $1,000 (small themed rooms) and scale up to $5,000+ for the whole rooftop on a Saturday. Whatever your guests drink at the bar counts toward that minimum, so for most product launchs of 50+ people, the minimum is hit naturally and there's effectively no venue cost on top.
Can we have food?
Yes — three options. (1) Our preferred external caterer Fabulous Catering delivers to the venue, invoiced separately. (2) Some rooms allow you to BYO platters or order pizzas in. (3) For larger or curated events, we can arrange custom canapés and drinks packages. We'll talk options based on your event.
How far in advance should we book?
For Friday and Saturday nights, 6-8 weeks is comfortable. For weeknights, 2-3 weeks. We've done last-minute Sunday afternoon bookings with 5 days' notice — just send the enquiry and we'll tell you what's actually available.
How do I get there from the city?
We're on Easey Street in Collingwood, a 15-minute Uber from the CBD or a short walk from Collingwood station (Mernda/Hurstbridge lines). Look up at the back of Easey Street — you'll see two trains on the rooftop. That's us.
