The Melbourne shoot location that doesn't look like everywhere else

Weekday-daytime shoots · $150/hr · half-day $500 · full day $900
Studios are blank boxes you have to dress. Trainscendence is the opposite — a ten-floor creative venue in Collingwood built around two vintage Hitachi train carriages on the rooftop, a retro in-flight cabin, a bio-dome and a fleet of themed rooms that do half the art direction for you.
It's built for shoots. Bring your crew and kit and use spaces you couldn't build on a studio budget — real texture and character, straight down the lens. Stills, video, content days, lookbooks, brand campaigns, music videos and commercials all work here.
We hire for shoots on weekday daytimes — the venue's quietest hours and its best-kept secret: wide-open availability, clean light through the day, and the run of the building, with filming wrapped by 6pm. Ten minutes from the CBD, a short walk from Collingwood station, with a lift to every floor.
Rates are simple: $150/hour, or lock in a half-day (4 hours) for $500 or a full day (8 hours) for $900. No per-head minimum. Tell us what you're shooting — the look, the dates, crew size and hours — and we'll match you to the right spaces and confirm.

Things people ask
What can I shoot at Trainscendence?
Stills and video of almost any kind — fashion and product photography, lookbooks, editorial, brand and social content days, music videos, short film and commercials. Each of the themed rooms gives a completely different backdrop, and the rooftop trains and patios open up wide establishing shots. Tell us the look you're after and we'll point you to the spaces that fit.
How much does a shoot cost?
Weekday-daytime shoot hire is $150 per hour, or you can lock in a half-day (4 hours) for $500 or a full day (8 hours) for $900. There's no per-head minimum. Those rates cover the space you're shooting in; multiple spaces or the whole floor are quoted on your brief — tell us the spaces, dates and hours and we'll confirm.
Which spaces are best for shoots?
The two vintage train carriages (Love Train) and the retro In-Flight cabin are the most distinctive — instantly recognisable and hard to fake. Bio-Cycle and the Magic School Bus bring colour and texture, and the rooftop is unbeatable for wide shots at golden hour. You can walk through every room in our 3D tour before deciding.
Can we bring a crew, lighting and equipment?
Yes. There's lift access to every floor, power available in each space, and room to set up lighting and grip. For heavier rigs, generators or anything power-hungry, just flag it in your enquiry and we'll confirm the details for the space you want.
Do you allow film and video, not just stills?
Both are welcome — from a two-person content shoot to a full crew running video. If you need a quiet, controlled environment for audio, let us know your dates and we'll book you into the calmest window (midweek daytime is ideal).
When can we shoot, and can we scout first?
Shoots run on weekday daytimes, with filming wrapped by 6pm — that's when the venue is quietest and the light is best, and it keeps the space clear for evening events. We're at Collingwood, ten minutes from the CBD — take the full 3D Matterport tour from your desk, or come in for an in-person recce before you book.
